Growing up somewhere else!?

Did you ever think of what it would have been like if you grew up in another place?   Do you think your childhood or life would have been different or do you think that not much would have changed?

I was born in San Pedro, California when my Dad was in the Army.  First he was stationed in South Carolina and that is actually where I got my start!  Then my Dad was transferred to California.  This was during the Korean War.  My Mom had gone home to Brooklyn from South Carolina.  When my Mom was nine months pregnant with me she flew out to California to be with my Dad.  In 1954 the plane trip from New York to LA took 11 hours!  That’s an extremely long plane ride for a woman nine months pregnant and traveling alone.  Well, I was born in San Pedro and we lived there for a little more than a year after I was born.  I’ve always been a California girl at heart and that would be where I would pick to have grown up. Of course I would want to  have the same family and friends that I have been blessed with growing up in New York!

What state or country other than where you grew up would you choose and why would you choose it?
